Hi!

I am a PhD student at University of Minho, supervised by Luís P. Santos and Ernesto F. Galvão. My current research is on the field of quantum computing, with a focus on studying, implementing and developing NISQ-friendly variational quantum algorithms. I am particularly interested in adaptive ansätze for areas of application such as combinatorial optimization and quantum chemistry.

I finished an Integrated Master’s degree in Engineering Physics in 2021. Throughout the course I garnered solid skills in physics, informatics, maths and electronics. In the Master's degree I specialized in quantum information and quantum computing. You can find my Master Thesis, titled Ansätze for Noisy Variational Quantum Eigensolvers, here. For more details I refer to my CV.

I belong to the Quantum and Linear-Optical Computation (QLOC) research group at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga, Portugal.

I am also affiliated with the High-Assurance Software Laboratory (HASLab), a R&D centre of the Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (INESC TEC).

Research Interests
